The Midnight Man (The Wiccan Chronicles Book 2) by D. A. Barney is a book about vampires, werewolves, demons, and malafecs. Usually, I don’t like fantasy fiction but this one was a happy surprise. In fact, I didn’t feel like that I haven’t read Book 1 because Book 2, as a standalone, works perfectly fine.

The Midnight Man follows multiple characters on their respective journeys to find their light. While Dani and Lucien live after their mother, Camille’s tragic death, Kaitlin and Jean have their own battles to fight. Amidst this, the readers experience the right blend of love, adventure, paralysing fear, magic, and chills. The nail-biting sequences and intricate emotions spread throughout the story of Lycans, Witches, and Warlocks keeps one hooked.

I truly appreciate how the book entertained me despite being a part of a series. It goes on to say that the author had adeptly woven this tale that oscillates back and forth between years and people to serve us a hooking tale. Moreover, the writing is as fun and engrossing as it could be with no beating around the bush! Did I mention that the author has displayed commendable imagination while developing the narrative?

The subtle humour and poignant emotions together made for an engrossing plotline. Do check out the book on Amazon and if the premise sounds good, go ahead with this.
